Knock, knock; just me here... I grew up in Indianapolis, IN in a family with 9 children. My mother passed on in 1970 and a few years later my father remarried and I inherited 2 older brothers and a younger sister. I had secretly always wanted an older brother. Although I never lived with them, we do keep in touch. My siblings have scattered across the United States. We try to gather at least once every two years for a reunion with spouses and all our children included. As many of our children have grown up it's more difficult to gather everyone in one spot; but we do try! Do any of you feel that even though your children age, you don't? Hmmm... I have moved a few times over the years. I moved to Las Vegas, NV from Indy which was quite a change, yet as I had begun working in the entertainment industry this was a good step for me. I arrived in Vegas at the time that "unsavory businessmen" were a large influence in the city. Not being of or living in that lifestyle, I found the town to be friendly and supporting. The corporations soon took over and the town changed rapidly. After several years I moved to Woodland Hills, CA. Since I get lost turning around in my closet, can you imagine what Los Angeles did to me! I remember getting lost one time in particular and called home to my new husband and said 'I know where I want to be, but I don't know how to get there nor do I know where I am now!' It took a while for him to figure out where I was and then said,' Uh, why are you heading to Vegas without me?!' Well I still haven't lived that one down. From there, after the 1994 earthquake in the San Fernando Valley where I lived, it was a tossup between moving to Orcas Island (part of the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington state) and near New Haven, CT where my husband was born.
